The quality of our lives in terms of happiness, peace, and security mostly derive from the quality of our relationships.  If there is generally a lot of love and happiness in our relationships we ourselves feel this. However when there is a break in any of our primary relationships then it tends to weigh on us either consciously or unconsciously. The ability to heal broken relationships tends to be at times hard, whether it comes from us not wanting to admit we are wrong, or simply the fear or pain of trying to work through the situation with the other.
